The Bulgarian Football Team, Men, has a rich history of participation in a number of international competitions – World and European Championships, friendly matches.
The Bulgarian National Football Team, Men, participated 7 times at finals for the World Cup (World Football Championship): 1962 in Chili, 1966 in Great Britain, 1970 in Mexico, 1974 in the Federal Republic of Germany, 1986 in Mexico, 1994 in the United States of America, and 1998 – in France.
During the World Football Championship in the USA Bulgaria took the 4th place in the final classification – the biggest success in the history of the Bulgarian football. Bulgaria participated twice at finals of European Championships – in 1996 in Great Britain and in 2004 in Portugal.
Other Bulgarian football successes:
1956 – Olympic Games in Melbourne – bronze medals
1968 – Olympic Games in Mexico – silver medals.
